Gold Cup

The Cheltenham Gold Cup is regarded as one of racings most prestigious National Hunt events. It is run over a distance of 3 miles and 2½ furlongs. The horses encounter 22 fences during the race.

The Gold Cup in 2010 is set to be a battle between two of racings most cherished horses – Kauto Star and Denman. Both horses are trained by champion trainer Paul Nicholls and are in excellent form. Kauto Star defeated the opposition in the King George on Boxing Day by 36 lengths. Both of the horses have won the Gold Cup once previously. Bookmakers make Kauto Star the 6/4 favourite in the ante-post betting markets. Denman is available at 2/1. All other horses are available at odds of 20/1 or bigger, but we firmly believe the winner will be one of the two horses from the Nicholls stable.

The 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup takes place on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival and will carry a prize pool of almost half a million pounds.
